About Us

At Sit Means Sit Dog Training, our passion is helping dogs and their owners build lasting, trusting relationships. Since opening our doors in Rowlett, we’ve expanded to serve Rockwall/Heath, Garland, Forney, Princeton, Sunnyvale, Royse City, Fate, and surrounding Texas communities.

We understand the challenges that come with an untrained dog—barking, pulling, jumping, or chewing—and we’re here to help. Our personalized training programs are designed for dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, whether at our training center or right in your home.

To better serve busy families, we offer in-home demos and convenient door-to-door transport for residents in Plano, Allen, and McKinney.

Our mission is simple: to bring out the best in your dog while making the training experience fun and stress-free for you. At Sit Means Sit, we don’t just train dogs—we create happier homes.

Meet the Owner – Jori Pollard Carns

Jori has been training dogs with Sit Means Sit since 2008 and is a certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She and her husband Sam split their time between Colorado, New Mexico, and East Texas, enjoying life with their six dogs—including two fun-loving Frenchie puppies, Ricky and Lucy.

Jori’s passion lies in helping dogs gain confidence and freedom through training. Watching that transformation is one of her favorite parts of the job.

Her longtime companion and business partner, Jed—a Black Lab and the original “founder” of the business—was known for his love of fetch and being a total show-off. Scarlett, the bold and independent dock diving champ, also played a big role in the early days. Both passed in 2022 but remain a lasting part of her journey.

Today, Shadow, a high-energy Dutch Shepherd, is the star of the pack. He’s always ready to swim, fetch, and keep the spirit of Sit Means Sit alive.
